Southern Oregon

Traveling north through the I-5 Corridor into the southern Cascades, one enters Oregon driving up the slopes of the Siskiyou Mountains  which run perpendicular to the Cascades. The freeway goes over the top of Mount Ashland at the highest elevation (4300 feet) it reaches on its journey from the Mexican border to Canada, then it descends for 10 miles into the fascinating small city of Ashland.

Shakespeare Festival

Ashland, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, attracts visitors from all over the world. Nearby is historic Jacksonville, which features the Britt Music Festival during the summer.  I-5 leads on to Medford where you can decide to continue to Grants Pass and Rogue River for some of the world’s best river-rafting – or you can turn east to visit the incredible beauty of Crater Lake National Park. All of these attractions offer uncluttered natural beauty.
